- The Welcome Brochure includes:
- Getting a library card
- Loan periods & overdue fines
- Requests & renewals
- Lost or damaged materials
- Lost library cards
- Borrowing library materials
- A patron's library card must be in good standing to check out library materials and cannot check out library materials if:
- Patron's fines and fees total $2.00 or more
- Patron has more than one overdue item
- Patrons are responsible for all materials borrowed with their card. Patrons are also responsible for any items they allow friends and/or relatives to check out with their card so the library does discourage patrons from "loaning" their card.
- A patron's library card must be in good standing to check out library materials and cannot check out library materials if:
- Returning library materials
Patrons can return materials to any branch in the Porter County Library System. Return materials before or on the due date, or put in a library "drop box" before the library opens on the following day. Fines will be charged for all overdue materials. - Unattended children policy
