USING PAULA
The Telephone Messaging System is an interactive voice messaging system with two primary functions Dial IN & Dial OUT
- Dial IN - When You Call PAULA...
Call 219-531-9054. Identify yourself by entering your library card barcode number and PIN#. By default, your PIN# is the last four digits of your phone number. Listen to the menu of options and press the appropriate number. The options will allow you to renew titles, list titles on loan (checked out) and cancel titles being held. You can return to the list of options by pressing the pound (#) key on your phone. You may exit by pressing the star (*) key. The patron's record is automatically updated after any task they perform.
- Dial OUT - When PAULA Calls You . . . .
Every night a list of patrons with overdues and items being held is generated for the next day. The Telephone Messaging System calls the patrons on that list. Since the list is only generated once a day it is possible for patrons to have picked up their hold or returned their items and still be called by PAULA.
Patrons have the option of logging into their account during that phone call by entering their library card barcode number and PIN#. By default, your PIN# is the last four digits of your phone number. If PAULA is unable to contact a patron they will receive a paper notice.
PAULA will call a maximum of three times per day for 2 days from 11am -7pm Monday thru Saturday. PAULA will not call when the library is closed.
